What is your opinion on the issue of the Star Spangled Banner (spanish version) matter? I think if Mexicans move here to America, they need to learn some goddamn english. We as Americans have to learn spanish if we move or visit Mexico. This subject sounds pretty straight forward to me. In my opinion, the American law is also hypocritical, they ban the spanish version of the Star Spangled Banner. If you remember, the President himself said, "If you live in America, you need to learn english." So, why not go the whole nine yards and ban ALL spanish music from the radio? Why should AMERICANS have to re-adjust our lives to make other people from another country happy? Please state your OPINION on this matter.
What is the meaning or story in the "Star spangled banner song"? who wrote it, when and where? O say, can you see, by the dawn's early light, What so proudly we hail'd at the twilight's last gleaming? Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thro' the perilous fight, O'er the ramparts we watch'd, were so gallantly streaming? And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air, Gave proof thro' the night that our flag was still there. O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave? On the shore dimly seen thro' the mists of the deep, Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes, What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep, As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses? Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam, In full glory reflected, now shines on the stream: 'Tis the star-spangled banner: O, long may it wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Who can tell me the copyright laws concerning the star spangled banner? I know that it is in the public domain. BUT we are wondering if it is really legal to play any version of it before a sporting event? Or do you need to make sure you purchase the "right" kind that can be played in public over a system. If so, where does one get that type of cd?/// Thanks Okay! So if we want to play a recorded version over the speaker system at a ball field where would we get the right license to make sure it is legit?
Where can I find a Rock Star Spangled Banner that has vocals? What's the latest rock version of "The Star Spangled Banner" and where can I find a download of it? I'm looking for a version that has a voice singing it too, not an instrumental one. Has anyone ever recorded a modern rock version of The Star Spangled Banner? I'm looking for something that has vocals, and not an instrumental track like the one by Jimi Hendrix.
Why or why not you feel the star spangled banner is a good choice for our national anthem? O say, can you see, by the dawn's early light, What so proudly we hail'd at the twilight's last gleaming? Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam, In full glory reflected, now shines on the stream: 'Tis the star-spangled banner: O, long may it wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave! And where is that band who so vauntingly swore That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion, A home and a country should leave us no more? Their blood has wash'd out their foul footsteps' pollution. No refuge could save the hireling and slave From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave: And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave. O thus be it ever when free-men shall stand Between their lov'd home and the war's desolation; Blest with vict'ry and peace, may the heav'n-rescued land Praise the Pow'r that hath made and preserv'd us a nation! Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just, And this be our motto: “In God is our trust!” And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Why would Obama do this during the star spangled banner? What are the underlying psychological reasons in your opinion? What is he thinking? Iowa Steak Fry http://www.time.com/time/photogallery/0,29307,1662530_1446035,00.html JHD - I said it was the star spangled banner. Try not to cut and paste.
is it really illegal to sing the star spangled banner drunk? I heard it some were in school. But i dont see how they could even inforce a law like that because 1. going to jail over something that stupid is wrong. 2. you didnt hurt anyone in a way that they shouldnt be able to get over, 3. to arrest someone goes agianst the freedom of speech.
